~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Description:
Every February 27th, a small, often forgotten village in suburban Kanto runs an event known as the Mew Festival. The Festival celebrates the existence of Pokemon all over the world. As such, the overarching theme of the Festival is the idea of welcoming and accepting any and all people or Pokemon. These ideals are best represented in Mew, the ancestor to all Pokemon and embodiment of kindness.
On this day, people and Pokemon are encouraged to try new things, symbolizing Mew's curiosity. Kiosks line the main roads through the town, offering free gifts to both travelers and locals alike, representing Mew's generosity. Children are able to participate in activities and games throughout the day, reflecting Mew's playful nature. Finally, music is played at night, akin to Mew's love of lullabies.
Although this Festival is celebrated only once a year, it serves as a reminder to all humans and Pokemon that, after all is said and done, all living things are inherently instilled with kindness. Therefore, no matter who or what something is, we should all be able to offer a welcoming hand.

A/N: *Whew* - really had to rush this one since I was only able to start a few days ago. Somehow I seem to have made it in time. Not sure how I feel about this piece; I feel like I mixed a bunch of styles, but not sure if it all worked out. I guess I just have to keep practicing.
Bonus points if you can guess why I chose Feb 27 for the Festival's date.
